Minivans have come along way in the past decade or so, and the 2019 Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey prove it. Gone are the days of a boring van with ample space for a family. These two minivans seat up to eight passengers but include almost every ounce of technology a family could want or need – and they do it in style. The Odyssey has six trim levels, one more than the Sienna, but both vans can be upgraded with various packages to make the perfect vehicle for each family. They’re also packed with features in their base models, like the Odyssey’s multi-angle rearview camera, 3rd row Magic Seat, and push-button start, and the Sienna’s multiple USB ports, tri-zone automatic climate control, and the full range of Toyota Safety Sense driver assistance features. Both vans get a V6 engine with only slightly higher horsepower and torque in the Sienna and almost equal fuel mileage on the highway and in the city. However, the Odyssey offers two transmission choices – a 9-speed automatic and a 10-speed automatic – to let drivers choose what meets their performance needs. The Sienna comes with a standard 8-speed automatic transmission and optional all-wheel drive on each trim above the base model.
