The Chevrolet Silverado and Ford F-150 have a lengthy past of healthy competition, and it’s usually the F-150 that comes out slightly ahead in popularity in sales. However, it’s possible that 2019 might be the model year to break the mold, as Chevy has put quite a bit of thought into the Silverado and its hefty redesign, including three new trim levels to beef up the already solid line of five other trims, making it more customizable than ever. It still may fall a bit short in performance to the F-150, however. Although the Silverado has an impressive V8 engine paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission, the 3.3-liter V6 and 6-speed automatic transmission in the F-150 seem like a perfect match for the truck. Owners will have more engine options for the Silverado, though, with three additional powertrains, including a turbodiesel, available for its trims, while the F-150 has only two more options: an EcoBoost V6 and a V8. As for features, both the Silverado and F-150 come equipped with all the basics, but the Silverado has a slight edge with available features like active noise cancellation, power-adjustable pedals, and leather-appointed front bucket seats for extra luxury and convenience.
