Based on an MQB platform promoting a wide, low stance, the 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan features an extensive trim range featuring six options (S, SE, SEL, SEL R-Line, SEL Premium and SEL Premium R-Line). A spacious interior inside the Tiguan provides up to 73.5 cubic feet of cargo room and provides standard seating for five passengers with available seven-passenger capacity. A 6.5-inch capacitive touchscreen infotainment system, roof rails, LED daytime running lights and 17-inch wheels are included on base S trim of the Volkswagen Tiguan. Fender Premium Audio system, dual-zone Climatronic automatic temperature control and an array of advanced driver-assistance features such as Autonomous Emergency Braking is offered on higher trim grades of the compact crossover. Front-wheel drive and 4Motion all-wheel drive versions of the Tiguan source power from a 184-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter engine featuring gasoline direct injection mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. For the middle of the 2019 model year, a Volkswagen Tiguan SEL R-Line Jet-Black variant will be introduced with black-colored exterior trim compartments.
