2018 MINI Countryman ratings and reviews

The 2018 Mini Countryman crossover SUV comes in three trim options and six different models, ranging from the base model Classic Cooper to the souped-up John Cooper Works All4. There's also a hybrid option, the Cooper S E All4. Twinpower turbo engines are standard on all Countryman models, even the Cooper. The 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-3 cylinder engine has more horsepower and torque than earlier Countryman models. The John Cooper Works model has a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 cylinder engine with 228 horsepower. Meanwhile, the hybrid option has a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4/electric motor assist engine with a combined 221 horsepower. The hybrid model gets 65 mpge or 27 mpg combined. A six-speed transmission and front-wheel drive are standard, although there is the option of upgrading to all-wheel drive on some models. An automatic transmission is available as an option as well.
