2017 BMW Ratings, Reviews and Awards

For more than four decades, BMW has held on to the crown as a producer of the highest-quality midsize luxury sedans. The company wasn't about to let that crown slip with the introduction of the all-new 5 series in 2017. The 5 series moved into its seventh generation with grace and aplomb, reminding drivers what made the sedans so great in the first place. First to the market were the 530i and 540i. The revamped models are slightly bigger than their predecessors and keep much of the same conservative styling. Engine options include a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 or a 3.0 liter turbocharged inline-4. BMW didn't only focus on updating its 5 series for 2017. The luxury car maker also turned its attention to the i3, its electric model. Notably, the i3 got a more efficient battery in 2017, extending its range to 114 miles.
