2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE ratings and reviews

Aside from changing the name of its M-Class SUV lineup to the GLE, Mercedes-Benz has several more updates to the 2016 GLE. Among those updates is the introduction of the GLE550e, a plug-in hybrid version. The plug-in hybrid has a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 and an electric motor. In electric-only mode, the hybrid can travel for up to 18 miles. Plugged into a 220-volt outlet, the hybrid needs a few hours to recharge. Also new to the GLE for 2016 are several safety features such as an updated collision-prevention system and Crosswind Assist. Standard features on the base model, the GLE350, include heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a power tailgate. One neat feature is brake-hold, which maintains pressure on the brakes even if you remove your foot from the pedal. In addition to the hybrid, five engines are available. The base engine is a 2.1-liter twin-turbocharged diesel inline-4-cylinder.
