For the 2016 model year, the GMC Sierra 1500 adds in some new features not usually found in the full-size pickup truck category. Among those features are a lane-departure warning and auto high beams. The Sierra 1500 also adds in some completely new features for the model year, such as lane-keep assist and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Also new for 2016 is an eight-speed automatic transmission on certain models. Both the SLT and Denali models with a 5.3-liter V8 engine now offer the eight-speed automatic. The other engines available include the base 4.3-liter V6 and the top-of-the-line 6.2-liter V8. Standard features include cloth seats, cruise control, air condition, and a seven-inch touchscreen with radio and USB or SD card inputs. The SLE trim offers a rearview camera and a six-speaker audio system while the SLT trim has an eight-inch touchscreen and dual-zone climate control.
