2016 Ford Ratings, Reviews and Awards

Ford revived its popular mid-size SUV, the Explorer, in 2016. The revamped SUV boasted a new look and upgraded tech. An Explorer Platinum model provided a variety of luxurious features, such as a leather-wrapped instrument panel, leather seats, and a twin-turbocharged V6. For drivers looking to cut back on fuel usage, Ford added the option of a 2.3-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine. Also in 2016, Ford added a new package option to its ever-popular Mustang. The Shelby had a 5.2-liter flat-plane V8 engine with 526 horsepower. The only transmission option was a 6-speed manual for the Shelby. Proving that Ford is taking performance seriously, the brand introduced a 2.3-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine with 350 horsepower to its Focus line. Usually considered a fuel-efficient model, the 2.3-liter turbocharged engine got just 19 mpg/city and 23 mpg/highway.
