2013 smart Ratings, Reviews and Awards

The Smart line of compact cars return in 2013 with some important improvements. The standard Smart Fortwo Brabus hatchback uses a three-cylinder in-line engine to power its rear-wheel drive system and five-speed automatic transmission. With a barely-there light weight of 1808 lbs, the Fortwo’s 61.4 inches of width make it perfect for the narrowest of areas in the city. The Fortwo is also impressively fuel efficient, boasting 50 highway miles per gallon and 41 city miles per gallon. With a 73.5 inch high wheelbase, the Fortwo may seem to have significantly higher wheelbases than other subcompact cars, but the difference in aesthetics is notable. The Fortwo’s engine is capable of outputting 5800 rpm for 68 lb-ft of torque -- an impressive quantity for its small size.
