2013 Scion Ratings, Reviews and Awards

The Scion brand has long been known for snappy aesthetics and responsive vehicles, and their 2013 lineup is no exception. The Scion FR-S six-speed automatic transmission coupe uses a four-cylinder 2.0L 197 hp 7000 rpm engine to provide superior responsiveness and drivability. In comparison, the Scion iQ hatchback is very similar, using a front-mounted four-cylinder 1.3L 93 horsepower engine to produce 89 lb-ft of torque at 4400 rpm. Because the iQ has an electric engine, the 4WD may be surprising in the context of a single-speed transmission, but the vehicle pulls together very effectively. The Scion xD station wagon, in contrast, uses a sixteen-cylinder 1.8L 126 horsepower engine along with a five-speed shiftable automatic transmission and 4WD drive. With 154.7 inches of length, the xD is fairly long for a station wagon, which makes it comfortable and more streamlined.
