2009 Pontiac Ratings, Reviews and Awards

Pontiac boldly unveiled their G8 GXP in 2009, bringing new muscle into the lineup. The sport model features a V8, 6.2-liter engine boasting 402 horsepower. Zero to 60 miles per hour is rated at roughly four and a half seconds with either the six-speed manual or automatic G8 GXP transmissions. Pontiac's Solstice received a brand-new coup body style, allowing it to compete in the performance car arena, along with a limited-slip differential as an add-on option. Built alongside and competing with the Toyota Matrix, Pontiac's 2009 Vibe nor offered front end and side panels without plastic cladding for a sleek, modernized look. The Vibe would also feature four-wheel disc brakes and optional all-wheel drive. In the wake of eco-conscious options in 2009, Pontiac also incorporated a subcompact into their lineup with the G3. Complete with OnStar and multiple media features, the G3 provided a hint of luxury electronics while still delivering 106 horsepower with its 1.6-liter engine and maintaining 34 mpg highway.
