2009 MINI Ratings, Reviews and Awards

An offshoot of BMW, MINI produces some of the most iconic compact cars on the market. In 2009, they released upgrades to the Copper Clubman, Cooper Convertible, and Cooper Hardtop. With slightly longer architecture, MINIs could now accommodate upgraded powerplants along with finer features such as spacious sunroofs. The major change in 2009 was making the John Cooper Works package, which was previously offered as an upgrade, a new trim level. Available on all models for the year, the John Cooper Works trim adds a 208-horsepower engine pairs with 17-inch wheels, and upgraded braking system, and sport-tuned suspension for an even smoother experience than before. The 2009 hardtop model received an ample facelift to mark as unique from the other models without sacrificing the MINI design, while the Clubman took on second-generation stylings. The convertible model also received a minor facelift for a sportier appearance in 2009.
