2008 Dodge Ratings, Reviews and Awards

Dodge made a strong showing in 2008, in part by creating a fresher version of the now-defunct Stratus, a mid-size sedan renamed to the old Avenger line. The new 2008 Avenger looks similar to the popular Dodge Charger and comes loaded with a 173 hp, 2.4 L engine that gets 19-25 combined mpg. The Caliber, Dodge's performance hatchback introduced in 2007, has changed little and still gets 148 hp on a 1.8 L engine. It gets 22-26 combined mpg and is available with a turbocharger that boosts horsepower to 285 (called the SRT4). The Challenger is brand new this year. The 2008 classic muscle car throwback sold out quickly, in part because of 425 hp, 6.1 L, V-8 Hemi engine. 2008's Ram 1500 has not received serious structural changes since 2006, but is available this year in four trims, three cabs, two bed sizes, and more than three engines, with total horsepower topping out 345 in the 5.7 L Hemi V-8.
