2006 Mazda Ratings, Reviews and Awards

The classic Mazda Miata receives a fully updated restyling billed as the sports car for a new generation. It departs from previous models with a newly redesigned exterior and smarter handling. The Mazda5 debuts as a family car available in two editions, Touring and Sport, and features configurable seating. Mazda6 gets a sharpened retooling for a more aggressive style and adds retuned suspension and a five-speed transmission. For speed lovers, the MazdaSpeed6 sedan receives a turbocharged 274 horsepower engine with a six-speed manual transmission. It’s sporty and provides superior handling. Cruise control now comes standard for the Mazda Tribute line but sees few other changes. The popular B-Series compact truck gains an anti-theft system, but the truck remains largely unchanged from previous model years regarding styling and features. Mazda continues to attract a wider audience with a variety of different types of vehicles but suited to sporty urban driving.
