2000 Nissan Ratings, Reviews and Awards

2000 was a year of changes for Nissan's core lineup. The long-standing Altima could be upgraded to leather seats, 16-inch wheels, and acceleration-sensitive strut valving. Nissan's pickup truck offering, the Frontier, has options including single, king, or crew cab and both gasoline and diesel engines. There were also both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive options available. The Nissan mid-size SUV, the Pathfinder, was in its second generation as the R50 series. With engine upgrades, a unibody styling, and manual and automatic transmissions, The Pathfinder had options for many kinds of drivers. The Quest, their 2000 minivan model, had excellent handling and alloy wheels standard, with the option to install CD changers and make some interior upgrades. The compact Sentra, which has a special California Clean Air version with double-walled exhaust, a smog-reducing radiator, and three catalytic converters, was one of Nissan's smaller offerings. Their mid-sized Maxima, however, features a 3.0-liter V6 engine that could go from 0 to 60 in 7.0 seconds.
