Hummer is a brand of SUVs and trucks synonymous with individuality, brawn, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, who had input into the design of the civilian SUV. Although Hummers are no longer produced, the brand was a stalwart from 1999 until mid-2010 in the General Motors stable. Initially based on the Humvee multi-purpose all-terrain vehicle that is still used today by the U.S. Army, the first Hummer, the H1, was designed by AM General Corp., a subsidiary of defunct American Motors Corp.
