Melissa Sauter is Vice President and General Manager for the Americas in the Global Services and Emerging Industries Division at J.D. Power. She is responsible for overseeing the company’s delivery of syndicated research, proprietary tracking programs, solutions consulting and performance improvement programs to non-automotive clients in the United States and Canada. Industries served include insurance, financial services, healthcare, travel, energy, telecommunications and government.
Previously at the company, Ms. Sauter was Senior Director in the Diversified Practice in the U.S. Services and Emerging Industries Division, which included the powersports, marine, commercial vehicle, technology, government and emerging industries business sectors. Earlier, she held roles in practice leadership, business development, sales management, research and operations across the company’s automotive and non-automotive divisions.
Prior to joining J.D. Power in 1995, Ms. Sauter was a senior consultant for Deloitte Consulting, where she focused on strategy and business process re-engineering within the automotive industry. She also worked in sales and marketing for Freudenberg-NOK, a Tier 1 supplier to the automotive industry.
Ms. Sauter earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Michigan State University and a master’s degree from the University of Michigan.
