2010 Hyundai Accent
The Hyundai Accent is a subcompact car that is sold as a 3-door hatchback and as a 4-door sedan. The Accent is Hyundai's entry-level model, with a base price under $10,000 and a focus on fuel economy-a 4-cylinder engine is the only available powerplant.
The Hyundai Accent replaced the Hyundai Excel for the 1995 model year. In its first year, it was offered as a 3-door hatchback or a 4-door sedan with a standard 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine. The current third-generation model was introduced in a sedan body style for the 2006 model year; the 3-door hatchback debuted in 2007. An all-new model is expected to debut for 2011.

Features and Options
Hyundai offers the Accent 3-door in three different trim levels: Blue, GS, and SE. The base model Blue is designed with an entry-level price, so air conditioning and power windows are optional. The GS model adds standard air conditioning, tilt steering wheel, map lights, and a rear window wiper/washer. The SE model is the sportiest and includes a short-throw B&M shifter, power tilt-and-slide glass sunroof, 6-speaker 172-watt audio system, and a 6-way adjustable driver seat.
The Accent 4-door is sold only in GLS trim. It includes air conditioning, variable intermittent wipers, dual front cupholders, illuminated vanity mirrors, rear window defrosters, and 60/40-split folding rear seatbacks.
An optional Premium package adds anti-lock brakes (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), power windows, power outside mirrors, power door locks, remote keyless entry, alarm, cruise control, and steering wheel-mounted controls.
All models of the 2010 Hyundai Accent are front-wheel drive. The standard engine on both the 3-door and 4-door is a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder rated at 110 horsepower and 106 lb.-ft. of torque. The standard transmission is a 5-speed manual with a 4-speed automatic optional. Fuel economy for the Accent models ranges between 27 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway.
