2010 Honda Fit



Overview

The Honda Fit is a subcompact 5-door hatchback designed to beeconomical, fuel efficient, and fun to drive. Bucking the segment trendof offering lightly optioned subcompact models, Honda offers the5-passenger Fit with a long list of standard equipment and options suchas stability control, navigation, and alloy wheels.

History/Genealogy
The subcompact Honda Fit has been on sale in other markets since2001-it is known as the Honda Jazz in Europe, parts of Asia, Australia,and many other places around the globe. North American customersreceived it as the Honda Fit (the same name is used in Japan and China)in 2007. Now in its second generation, last redesigned for the 2009model year, the Fit is slightly larger than its predecessor, but itstill remains one of the smallest models on the road.

Models and Powertrain
The 2010 Honda Fit is offered in two different models: base Fit and FitSport.

Both models share the identical 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that israted at 117 horsepower and comes mated to a standard 5-speed manualtransmission (a 5-speed automatic is optional). All models arefront-wheel drive. While the Fit Sport isn't considered a sports car inthe truest sense, it comes with standard ground appearance package,alloy wheels, paddle shifters (when optioned with the automatictransmission), fog lights, and more standard features to enhance thedriving experience. The EPA-rated fuel economy for the 2010 Honda Fitranges between 27 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway.
