2010 Acura RDX

Overview
The 2010 Acura RDX is a compact crossover sport utility vehicle designed to offer a sporty ride, utility, and all-weather capabilities. Smaller sibling to the Acura MDX, the 5-passenger RDX is the automaker's entry-level SUV. To improve fuel economy, it is offered only with a unique turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and a choice of front- or all-wheel drive.
History/Genealogy
The Acura RDX started out as a concept car in the early 2000's (it was shown as the RD-X). By the time it hit showrooms in 2007, Acura's newest compact crossover featured the automaker's first turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and standard all-wheel drive. Sportier than the larger MDX, the RDX is built on a smaller platform (shared with the Honda Civic and CR-V) with an emphasis on ride and handling. The Acura RDX is in its first generation.
The news for the Acura RDX in 2010 is the new availability of a front-wheel-drive model. In addition, the RDX received a facelift-the corporate "grille" currently worn by the TL and MDX found its way to the RDX. Furthermore, Acura made other minor tweaks to the rear fascia, the interior, and the technology package. A new 6-speed automatic transmission is likely for 2011.
