New for 2009-Toyota Cars
Critical Knowledge: - Camry, Corolla and Matrix were early introductions and already are available at dealerships
- Toyota discontinues the Camry Solara coupe and convertible for the 2009 model year
- The compact Yaris adds a 5-door "liftback" version that includes an available body kit and interior colors as well as Yellow Jolt and Carmine Red exterior paint
- All Yaris models get standard anti-lock brakes (ABS), front seat-mounted side air bags and integrated iPod capability for audio systems
The Avalon shares much of its underpinnings with the Camry, but is a larger sedan: 8 inches longer and more than an inch wider. The car offers more than 2 additional inches of rear-seat legroom. For 2009, the Avalon sedan will be available in three trim levels; the former Touring version will not be offered. All 2009 Avalon sedans will get updated "active" headrests designed to counter the whiplash forces in rear collisions and standard vehicle stability control technology.
