Hyundai, the world's fifth largest automaker, introduced itself to the United States market in 1986 with a single economy car called the Excel. Although it was a sales success, quality issues gave the brand a bad name as the low-cost model was plagued with reliability problems. In an effort to eliminate the public's apprehension, the Korean automaker invested heavily in quality and design over the next decade and eventually launched several well-received models, earning industry-wide accolades. For 2009,Hyundai introduced its first all-new rear-wheel-drive sedan called theGenesis. Its platform serves as the foundation for the 2010 GenesisCoupe. In a price segment crowded with front-wheel-drive, 4-cylinder offerings, the Genesis Coupe delivers performance-oriented rear-wheel drive and the choice of 4 or 6-cylinder powerplants. The 2010 HyundaiGenesis Coupe is due in showrooms in the spring of 2009.
The Hyundai Genesis Coupe is covered by a bumper-to-bumper5-year/60,000-mile warranty and a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty. Hyundai offers roadside assistance coverage for the first 5years of ownership, regardless of mileage.
