New for 2011-Jaguar

Jaguar ModelsHistory
Founded in 1922, Jaguar is a British automaker specializing in luxury and performance vehicles. Headquartered in England, the company started business as a motorcycle manufacturer named the Swallow Sidecar Company. The company made its first car in 1935, and officially changed its name to Jaguar in 1945.

After decades under British ownership, when the company launched such cars as the famed E-Type and the Mark IV, Jaguar was purchased by Ford Motor Company in 1989 (in a deal that included Land Rover, Volvo and others). A bit more than 20 years later, Ford transferred its ownership in 2008. This time, the company was purchased by Tata Motors, of India.

In addition to its passenger vehicles, Jaguar is also known for its racing history (the company has raced in the famed 24 Hour of Le Mans and in modern Formula One events). While Jaguar's current lineup includes just three models (two sedans and one coupe), the automaker has carved out an exclusive niche in the European luxury segment. Headquartered in England, Jaguar manufactures automobiles in Europe for sale around the globe.
