Founded in 1933 as Datsun (a name that was discontinued in the mid-1980s), Nissan Motor Company is a Japanese automobile manufacturer with a long history of building passenger cars and trucks.

Today, in addition to its consumer-oriented automotive lineup, Nissan also offers a line of consumer and industrial products including outboard motors and forklifts. In conjunction with its French partner Renault, Nissan's automotive product line has been greatly expanded over the past decade-including the more recent North American launch of its iconic flagship GT-R sports car.

In addition to fuel-efficient gasoline, hybrid, and battery-powered passenger sedans, coupes and convertibles, Nissan offers workhorse pickups and family-oriented sport utility vehicles. Nissan vehicles are manufactured and sold worldwide.
