Introduction
Chevrolet added the Aveo subcompact in 2004 as its lowest-priced car. Based on a design by Korean automaker Daewoo, the Aveo is offered as a 4-door sedan or 5-door hatchback. Providing an early glimpse at the next-generation Aveo set to debut for the 2010 model year, the Chevrolet Aveo RS Show Car was introduced at the 2010 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The Aveo RS is designed to appeal to young enthusiasts by showcasing the new model's design, as well as the many personalization options that could be offered for the new production version.

The all-new Chevrolet Aveo, to be built in Michigan, will hit the streets for the 2011 model year, right around the same time the new Chevrolet Cruze compact and Volt electric vehicle come to market. Along with the Malibu and Impala, Chevrolet will offer no fewer than five fuel-efficient sedan/hatchback models for the 2011 model year.
