Dan Seldin is Senior Director in the Analytic Center of Excellence at J.D. Power. He directly manages a team of statisticians and industry analysts and is primarily responsible for the research design and statistical analyses within the Insurance, Utility, Travel and Hospitality, and Diversified practices. These duties include designing study methodology, sampling, and questionnaires; providing research support; analyzing data; turning statistical analyses into client-friendly insights; assisting with writing proposals and study findings; and presenting study findings to clients for numerous syndicated and proprietary studies. In addition to his industry-specific duties, Dr. Seldin helps to enhance research best practices and drive new product development.

Dr. Seldin has more than 20 years of research and analytic experience. Prior to joining J.D. Power in 2002, he was a senior program evaluator for the Riverside Unified School District. In this position, he evaluated and assisted in the implementation of district-wide state and federally funded intervention programs aimed at increasing academic performance and school safety.

Dr. Seldin has presented at numerous research and industry conferences and has been published in both industry and academic journals.

Dr. Seldin received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology (magna cum laude); a master’s degree in psychology; and a Ph.D. in social and personality psychology from the University of California, Riverside.
