The 2014 Mazda 6, a redesigned midsize family sedan that went on sale in January of 2013, receives an "Acceptable" rating, earning it a Top Safety Pick Plus rating.The 2014 Mazda 6 is offered with a number of safety-related technologies for the mid-grade Touring and top-of-the-line Grand Touring models. The 2014 Mazda 6 Touring is equipped with a blind-spot monitoring system and rear cross-traffic alert system. As an option, buyers can add a Smart City Brake Support system to this model. The Smart City Brake Support technology is standard for the Mazda 6 Grand Touring model, and this version of the vehicle is offered with an optional lane-departure warning system and a forward-obstruction warning system.
