Dodge Reduces Price of 2013 Challenger SRT8 by Almost Five Grand

The Challenger SRT8 "Core" model is equipped with a black grille, black rear spoiler, black badges, and 20-inch aluminum wheels with black-painted pockets. Brembo brakes remain standard, but the calipers are painted black on this model. On the inside, the 2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8 "Core" model is equipped with cloth seats and door panel inserts, as well as what the automaker refers to as a mini-carbon bezel instrument panel.
Underhood firepower remains the same, with a 6.4-liter V-8 engine generating 470 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque. A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard, with a 5-speed automatic transmission optional, both feeding power to the Challenger SRT8's rear wheels.
According to Dodge, the Challenger SRT8 accelerates to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds, does the quarter-mile in about 12.5 seconds (with the automatic transmission), reaches a maximum speed of 182 mph (with the manual gearbox), and stops from 60 mph in 117 feet.
*After the $995 destination charge and $1,000 gas guzzler tax are added.
