Britax Recalls Child Seats Due to Choking Hazard
Britax recommends that owners of the affected child safety seats remove the chest pads, also referred to as HUGS pads, and continue using the seat until replacement pads made of a firmer material are sent by the manufacturer. Owners of the affected models who did not register their seats with Britax after purchase may contact Britax Customer Service Department at 1-888-427-4829 with questions or to request replacement pads.
Instructions for proper installation are included with the new HUGS pads. Britax also offers videos showing how to replace the HUGS pads at www.BritaxUSA.com/support/safety-notices. The NHTSA Campaign ID Number for this recall is 12C004.
