Recall Roundup: Malfunctioning Remote Engine Start Fobs Impact Subaru Models
The source of the problem is an Audiovox remote engine start accessory item that, if dropped, may become damaged. The models covered by this recall include the following:
2012-2013 Subaru Impreza
2010-2012 Subaru Legacy
2010-2012 Subaru Outback
2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek
Subaru will replace the accessory remote engine start fobs free of charge beginning at the end of April. Standard original equipment key fobs are not affected by this recall. Concerned owners can contact Subaru at 1-800-782-2783 and reference Subaru recall campaign number WQF-42 or National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Campaign ID number 13V061000.
