2014 Honda Accord Hybrid Good for 47 MPG, Accord Plug-in Hybrid Priced at $39,780
The 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid is different from the 2014 Honda Accord Plug-in Hybrid. The Accord Hybrid will be equipped with Honda's new two-motor gas-electric hybrid powertrain and will offer exterior styling much closer to the standard Accord model than the plug-in variant.
Honda also announced that the 2014 Accord Plug-in Hybrid goes on sale on January 15 for $39,780. This model will initially be offered in California and New York.
The Accord Plug-in Hybrid provides a maximum electric driving range of 13 miles. When the battery pack is depleted, the car operates as a gas-electric hybrid delivering 47 mpg in the city, 46 mpg on the highway, and 46 mpg in combined driving. The Accord Plug-in Hybrid's official EPA MPGe rating is 115, higher than the Chevrolet Volt, Ford C-Max Energi, and Toyota Prius Plug-in.
