2014 Ford Fiesta Adds EcoBoost 3-Cylinder Engine

Updated styling is instantly evident, thanks to LED running lights and a new front end with a grille that looks very similar to that of the 2013 Ford Fusion. Inside, new trim and a center armrest are included, as are improved information displays.
The new Fiesta also gets a new safety feature, called Active City Stop. Active at low speeds, such as when driving in city traffic, Active City Stop can identify situations when the Fiesta might collide with another vehicle or a pedestrian, and automatically brings the car to a stop. Ford has not announced whether this feature will be offered to U.S. customers.
A new turbocharged, 1.0-liter 3-cylinder engine is also going into the Fiesta. Compared with the 1.6-liter 4-cylinder in the current model, the new EcoBoost 3-cylinder adds 3 extra horsepower (123) and 36 additional lb.-ft. of torque (148). That bump in torque represents about a 30% increase over today's Fiesta, and it is also available at lower rpm and across a broader portion of the rev range, translating into a livelier feel from behind the wheel.
More details about the 2014 Ford Fiesta will be available as this model is closer to arriving in U.S. dealer showrooms.
