"Top Safety Pick" Rating Given to Redesigned 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport
Achieving "Top Safety Pick" status requires the top rating in a moderate overlap frontal-impact test, side-impact test, rear-impact injury prevention test, and a roof crush strength test designed to determine how well a vehicle will protect occupants in a collision. The testing is conducted at thresholds that exceed federal requirements.
The new Santa Fe Sport is base-priced at $25,275. Buyers choose between a 190-horsepower 4-cylinder engine and a turbocharged 4-cylinder generating 264 horsepower. Add all-wheel drive and all of the extras to a Santa Fe Sport 2.0T and the price tag rises to $37,285.
Early next year, a 7-passenger version of the Santa Fe will arrive in Hyundai showrooms.
