Land Rover Evoque and LR2 Recalled Over Rear Brake Caliper Issue

A small number of 2012 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover LR2 SUVs are being recalled due to a potential problem with the rear brake calipers. For the 70 affected vehicles, all built on June 11 of 2012, the rear brake caliper retaining bolts might be insufficiently torqued. An insufficiently torqued brake caliper could lead to brake caliper detachment, which in turn could lead to a loss of braking power or, if the caliper hits a wheel when falling off of the SUV, a flat tire.

Dealers will inspect and tighten the rear brake caliper retaining bolts, free of charge, but not until January 18, 2013. Concerned owners can contact Jaguar Land Rover directly at 1-800-452-4827, referencing Land Rover's recall number of P029. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) campaign ID number for this recall is 12V563000.
