New Recall Issued for 2012 Hyundai Veloster for Parking Brake Cables
If the parking brake components bind, the vehicle will fail to operate properly. Conditions that could result include a parking brake that drags while the vehicle is being driven or a parking brake that does not engage properly. If the brake does not engage properly, the vehicle could move unintentionally.
To resolve the problem, Hyundai will replace the rear brake caliper assemblies of the 4,490 affected vehicles at no charge. All of the recalled vehicles were built between July 2, 2011 and February 27, 2012.
Hyundai expects the recall to begin in January of 2013. Concerned vehicle owners may contact Hyundai with questions by calling 1-800-633-5151 and referencing Hyundai recall number 107 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Campaign ID Number 12V567000.
