Audi Announces Plans to Expand TDI Engines to New Models
This quartet of new TDI clean diesel models joins the Audi Q7 TDI, providing each model with what the automaker claims is a 30% increase in fuel economy over equivalent gasoline engines. Audi claims its 3.0-liter TDI engine gets 24 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway while generating 240 horsepower and 406 lb.-ft. of torque.
The 2014 Audi A8 3.0 TDI goes on sale in the spring of 2013. The remaining models--the 2014 Audi A6 3.0 TDI, 2014 Audi A7 3.0 TDI, and the 2014 Audi Q5 3.0 TDI--arrive in the fall of 2013.
