2013 Dodge Charger Daytona Debuts in Los Angeles
The new 2013 Charger Daytona includes a 370-horsepower, 5.7-liter "Hemi" V-8 engine with a special Daytona Blue engine cover, paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and a 3.06 performance axle ratio. Additionally, the new Charger Daytona is equipped with performance steering, performance-tuned suspension, and polished 20-inch wheels with Satin Black painted pockets.
The Satin Black treatment extends to the Charger Daytona's grille, hood stripes, roof treatment, and rear spoiler. Bold "DAYTONA" lettering is emblazoned upon each of this special-edition Charger's rear quarter panels.
Inside, the new Charger Daytona is equipped with dark aluminum trim on the dashboard and center console, metallic pedal trim, and a 10-speaker Beats Audio system. The R/T Daytona is equipped with sport seats wrapped in cloth with blue embroidered "Daytona" lettering on the head restraints. The Road & Track version has heated and ventilated Nappa leather performance seats with suede inserts and Daytona Blue stitching and piping.
Dodge plans to build 2,500 units of the new Charger Daytona, each equipped with a serialized dashboard plaque and painted in the buyer's choice of Daytona Blue, Bright White, Pitch Black, or Billet Silver. Prices start at $32,990 for the R/T model, with the Road & Track model beginning at $36,495. The new Daytona will be introduced at the upcoming 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show, and the car goes on sale during the first quarter of 2013.
