The SEL trim adds a power liftgate, Towing package, sunroof, and fog lights, and the SEL Premium features Xenon headlights, rear parking assist, upgraded blind-spot monitoring system, and a rear cross-path detection system.

Interior Features
Basic interior features on the Volkswagen Routan include vinyl upholstery, air conditioning, cruise control, some power accessories, second-row captain's chairs, and a 6-speaker sound system. The SE trim adds premium vinyl upholstery, automatic climate control, and more power accessories, while the SEL adds leather upholstery, navigation system, and other upgrades. The SEL Premium features an 8-way power passenger seat, 9-speaker audio system, rear-seat entertainment system, and interior wood trim. Cargo capacity is 83 cubic feet behind the second-row seats, which expands to 144.4 cubic feet when those seats are removed.
