2009 Volkswagen CC

, the Passat CC is a trendy 4-door coupe, along the lines of the Mercedes-Benz CLS. Slightly longer and lower than the standard Passat sedan, the Passat CC offers a sleek and upscale look from its artful exterior sheetmetal to the leather and wood decorating the cabin. As in other Passat models, the standard engine will be a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder with Volkswagen's 3.6-liter 6-cylinder powerplant available as an option.

2009 Volkswagen Eos

Volkswagen has dropped the more powerful 3.2-liter V-6 engine from the Eos for 2009. The standard engine on all models will now be the turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder. Park Distance Control has also been dropped from the standard features list, but it still remains optional on all versions. In addition, Volkswagen changed some of the available paint color choices on the Eos hardtop convertible for the new model year.

2009 Volkswagen Jetta

The 2009 model year marks the return of a diesel powerplant in the Jetta. Under the hood of the is a turbocharged, 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine rated at 140 hp and 236 lb.-ft. of torque. The standard transmission is a 6-speed manual; optional is a 6-speed DSG automatic gearbox (which according to Volkswagen is nearly 15 percent more efficient than a traditional automatic transmission). With urea injection and a particulate filter in the exhaust, the Jetta TDI passes Tier 2/Bin 5 emission standards for all 50 states while delivering an EPA-estimated 30 mpg city/41 mpg highway.

2009 Volkswagen New Beetle

The New Beetle gets new 16-inch wheels and an optional 17-inch wheel choice for the 2009 model year. Volkswagen has also changed the paint color choices.

2009 Volkswagen Passat

With the arrival of the new CC, Volkswagen has dropped the 3.6-liter V-6 engine and the all-wheel-drive option from the Passat lineup in 2009. The standard engine in both the sedan and wagon is now a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission (the manual transmission option has been discontinued). All Passat models are now front-wheel drive and will feature standard heated seats and washer nozzles for 2009. In addition, Volkswagen has refreshed the available exterior color choices by eliminating five colors and adding two new ones.

2009 Volkswagen Routan

, the Routan minivan follows a long lineage of Volkswagen "bus" transports. Sharing platforms and technology with Chrysler, the 2009 Volkswagen Routan ".combines European sensibilities in design, fit and finish, and handling characteristics with market relevant features and outstanding value," according to maker. The Routan seats up to 7 passengers, and can swallow 83 cubic feet of cargo. The standard engine will be a Chrysler-sourced 3.8-liter V-6 rated at 197 hp. An optional engine will be a Chrysler-sourced 4.0-liter V-6 rated at 251 hp. Both engines are combined with a standard 6-speed automatic transmission.

2009 Volkswagen Tiguan

, the 5-passenger Volkswagen Tiguan SUV joined its larger sibling, the Volkswagen Touareg, in showrooms during the summer of 2008. Based on the same platform as the Volkswagen Golf (Rabbit in the U.S.), the Tiguan is designed for on-road agility instead of off-road prowess. All Volkswagen Tiguan models are equipped with Volkswagen's 4Motion permanent 4-wheel-drive system and a 2.0-liter, turbocharged 4-cylinder engine as standard equipment. There are two transmission choices: a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) automatic. Option packages include upgraded wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and a 300-watt audio system. Volkswagen has also introduced their Automatic Park Assist on the Tiguan-its first offering on an SUV in the United States.

2009 Volkswagen Touareg 2

Volkswagen made several changes to the Touareg 2 for 2009. First, the V-10 diesel powerplant has been completely dropped, leaving the standard 3.6-liter V-6 and the optional 4.2-liter V-8, the latter now the strongest offering. Other changes involve the Touareg 2's option packages. The heated rear seats and 4-zone climate control system have both been removed from the Lux Plus package. However, the package now contains keyless entry, a keyless start/stop function, and an upgraded Dynaudio sound system. Both Touareg 2 models may now be fitted with the Safety package (adaptive cruise control, lane-change assistant) and the Technology package (DVD navigation, 30GB hard drive, and a rear backup assist camera).
