The Volkswagen CC is a sedan that shares a platform with the Volkswagen Passat but adds style, power, and luxury features. It's available with a 4- or 6-cylinder engine, and for 2011 Volkswagen has made slight changes to the list of standard features on its various trims.

The 2011 Volkswagen CC is offered in five trim levels. The entry-level CC 2.0T Sport trim features 17-inch alloy wheels, leatherette upholstery, heated front seats, automatic climate control, automatic headlights, fog lights, power accessories, Bluetooth connectivity, and an 8-speaker sound system. The CC 2.0T Lux trim steps up to 18-inch wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, sunroof, and front and rear park assist. The CC 2.0T Lux Plus and the Lux Limited trims add various other features, including a sunroof, rearview camera, and bi-xenon headlights. The CC VR6 4Motion Executive trim is the top of the line, and includes leather sport seats, more safety features, more powerized accessories, and an upgraded sound system.

Standard power plant for the 2011 Volkswagen CC with front-wheel drive is a 200-horsepower, 2.0-liter, turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that delivers 22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway, according to the EPA. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard on the Sport trim. An automated manual transmission is standard on the Luxury trim and optional on the Sport. The all-wheel-drive VR6 Executive trim features a 280-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 engine that delivers 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. The V-6 engine works with a conventional 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shifters.

Standard safety features on the 2011 Volkswagen CC include anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, hill-hold assist, stability control, traction control, active front side air bags, and side curtain air bags. In government crash tests, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the CC 4 (out of 5) stars for front-impact protection, 5 stars for front-passenger side protection, and 4 stars for rear-passenger side protection. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the CC highest-possible \"Good\" ratings in frontal-offset, and rear- and side-impact crash tests.

Starting MSRPs for the 2011 Volkswagen CC range from just over $28,000 to almost $40,000.
