Overview

Based on the Toyota Camry platform, the Venza is a midsize crossover SUV with seating for up to 5 passengers. It is offered in either 4- or 6-cylinder trim levels with a front- or all-wheel-drive powertrain. A 6-speed automatic transmission is standard. As the Venza was a brand-new model for 2009, changes for 2010 are limited to new standard iPod, USB and Bluetooth phone connectivity on all models.
  • New standard audio system USB port
  • New standard iPod connectivity
  • New standard Bluetooth wireless phone connectivity
  • Otherwise, Venza is the same as 2009

The Toyota Venza might be classified as a \"sport wagon.\" It's a 5-passenger family wagon that rides high and adds extra width, and is available with all-wheel drive (AWD). For 2010, the Venza's sound system has been updated and Bluetooth connectivity added.

The 2010 Toyota Venza offers two trim levels: one with a 4-cylinder engine and one with a V-6 engine. Accompanying the smaller engine are 19-inch alloy wheels; the larger engine features 20-inch wheels. Standard features on both include dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, automatic headlights, some power accessories, trip computer, and a 6-speaker sound system that now features satellite radio, a USB port, and iPod connectivity. Various option packages and stand-alone enhancements are available. These can include leather upholstery, keyless entry and ignition, heated front seats and mirrors, more power accessories, a navigation system, premium surround-sound system, and a rear-seat entertainment system. Cargo space behind the rear seats amounts to 34.4 cubic feet, according to Toyota. With the rear seats folded, total cargo space is 70 cubic feet.

The entry-level power plant for the 2010 Toyota Venza is a 182-horsepower, 2.7-liter 4-cylinder engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission that features sequential shift control. It delivers 21 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway with front-wheel drive (FWD), 20/28 with AWD, according to the EPA. The upper-trim 268-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine delivers 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway with FWD, and 18/25 with AWD.

Standard safety features on the 2010 Toyota Venza include 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, stability control, traction control, active front head restraints, front seat belt pre-tensioners, front side air bags, and side curtain air bags. In government crash tests, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the Venza 5 (out of 5) stars across the board in front- and side-impact tests. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the Venza the highest-possible \"Good\" ratings in frontal-offset and side-impact tests.

Starting MSRP for the 2010 Toyota Venza was $26,275.
