2015 Smart Overview

The 2015 Smart Fortwo and the Smart Electric Drive are 2-passenger mini cars, styled in a manner reminiscent of little European classics such as the Fiat Topolino and the Citro├źn 2CV. They're city-oriented cars, engineered to fit into small parking spaces. Chief competitors include the Fiat 500e and the Scion iQ. Both Smart models feature 12 cu. ft. of cargo space behind the front seats. The 2015 models carried over from the previous year, as an extensive redesign is planned for 2016.

2015 Smart Fortwo

Available in coupe and convertible body styles, and in two trim levels (Pure and Passion, with the convertible only offered in the Passion trim), the Smart Fortwo features 15-in. steel wheels, automatic climate control, cloth upholstery, fold-down passenger seat, power locks (but manual windows), and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Fortwo Passion upgrades to alloy wheels and adds automatic headlights and windshield wipers, power windows and side mirrors, 3-spoke steering wheel with gearshift paddles, 2-speaker sound system, and a driver's side armrest. The coupe features a panoramic see-through roof panel as a no-cost option, while the convertible has a power soft top. The Sport package of options includes sport pedals, exact-fit floor mats, heated seats, power steering, and a flashier dashboard. Other option packages include leather seats, LED running lights, upgraded wheels, upgraded sound, and a navigation system. The Smart Fortwo's 3-cylinder engine generates 70 horsepower and 68 lb.-ft. of torque, and gets 34 mpg city, 38 mpg highway, and 36 mpg combined, according to the EPA.
