Overview

The 2009 Saturn Vue is available in a wide range of models, from the economical XE base model and frugal Hybrid to the loaded XR and sporty Red Line models.
2016,
2016,The base XE comes with a 169-horsepower, 2.4L "Ecotec" four-cylinder engine, matched with a four-speed automatic transmission. The all-wheel-drive XE model comes with a 222-horsepower, 3.5L pushrod V6 engine, while the top-of-the-line XR and performance-oriented Red Line receive a 257-horsepower, 3.6L overhead-cam V6 with variable valve timing for better response across the rev range. Both V6 engines are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
2016,
2016,Two Vue Hybrids are available--a 2.4L four cylinder with 172 horsepower and a new two-mode version, powered by a 3.6L V6 with 255 horsepower. Both models shut off the gas engine while at a rest, but the V6 is a true two-mode unit, in that it can accelerate solely on battery power. The 4-cylinder hybrid utilizes a 4-speed automatic, while the V6 employs a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
2016,
2016,Safety and control are emphasized by the Vue's design; stabilizer bars are included front and back for the four-wheel independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock are standard equipment. So are electronic stability control, active head restraints, front-seat side air bags and rollover-capable head-curtain side bags for front and rear rows. The Vue also has a trailer sway control feature integrated into the stability control system; it detects trailer sway while towing and applies the brakes as necessary to restore stability. When properly equipped, it can tow up to 3,500 pounds.
2016,
2016,The Vue has a roomy interior that can accommodate five and the back seat is 60/40-split and folds forward easily to expand the cargo area.
2016,
2016,The Red Line model features a more aggressive front end design, projector-beam fog lamps, special trapezoidal exhaust tips and a spoiler, plus tap up/down transmission control, larger 18-inch alloy wheels and a lowered sport-tuned suspension. Inside, it gets an exclusive black interior theme, with leather sport seats with red stitching and perforated inserts. The Red Line is available with either front- or all-wheel drive.
2016,
2016,Uplevel XR models are distinguished from the XE by large 17-inch alloy wheels, a dual-outlet stainless-steel exhaust, fog lamps and side rails, plus a number of additional features inside including automatic climate control, a power driver's seat and a rear cargo organizer.
2016,
2016,Noteworthy options include premium leather upholstery and a Convenience Package that includes rain-sensing wipers, heated washers and a universal remote.

The plug-in concept promises fewer trips to the gas station while producing fewer vehicle emissions and an electric-only driving range of 34 miles. The Saturn-Opel partnership has already resulted in several U.S. and European production models like the Saturn Aura, Sky, Vue and Astra, and the Opel GT, Antara and Astra. The Flextreme concept debuted first as an Opel at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show.

Saturn added a Green Line hybrid for the 2007 model year. That model used an electric motor/generator coupled with GM's Ecotec 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine for a total output of 170 hp and 162 lb.-ft. of torque. The result was a 20-percent increase in fuel economy versus the 2.4-liter engine without the hybrid system. The Vue was redesigned for the 2008 model year, losing the traditional Saturn plastic body panels in the process. A Saturn Vue Green Line returned to the lineup with the same 2.4-liter engine and motor/generator. For 2009, Saturn will add a second hybrid to the Vue lineup, the Vue Green Line 2 Mode.
