Nissan's 2012 NV3500 HD Passenger is a new full-size van based on the NV Cargo. The NV Passenger is available in three distinct trim levels, which correspond with the way the rest of the Nissan lineup is broken down: S, SV and SL.
2016,All NV Passengers are rear-wheel drive, with a fully boxed ladder frame that utilizes front independent double wishbone suspension and a multi-leaf rear suspending the solid axle. Seating for twelve is standard, with an impressive 324 possible configurations. Total interior volume is a whopping 267 cubic feet, and the integrated roof rack will hold up to 500 pounds.
2016,Powering the S and SV is Nissan's tried and true 4.0L DOHC 24-valve V6, which produces 261 hp and 281 ft-lb of torque. A 5.6L DOHC 32-valve V8 is optional on those models and standard on the SL. It produces 317 hp and 385 ft-lb of torque. Both powerplants utilize continuously variable valve timing on intake valves, as well as direct injection, and power from both engines is put to the rear wheels via a 5-speed automatic transmission. Properly equipped with a Class IV tow hitch receiver, the V8 NV Passenger can tow up to 8,700 pounds.
2016,Standard features on the S include dual power mirrors, ten integrated roof rack mounting points, a 243-degree opening range for the rear cargo doors, halogen headlights, tilt steering, air conditioning, a 12v DC outlet, four-speaker AM/FM/CD stereo, eight cup holders and water-repellent cloth seating.
2016,Step up to the SV and you'll find chrome exterior accents, a rear sonar system, six rear passenger map lights, power windows and locks, remote entry, cruise control, lockable center console, three 12v outlets and a 6-speaker MP3-compatible stereo.
2016,The top-of-the-line SL adds fog lights, a front sonar system, Bluetooth hands-free connectivity, dual-zone air conditioning, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with integrated compass, leather-appointed seating with heated front seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
2016,Optional equipment abounds on the NV Passenger range. Many pieces of equipment that are standard on the upper models are optional for others, making every NV highly customizable. Additionally, several packages are available. The Power Package for the S adds power windows, locks, cruise control and remote entry. A Technology Package for the SV adds Nissan Navigation with a 5-inch color touchscreen, Bluetooth, a rearview monitor, and SiriusXM satellite radio. A similar package is available for the SL.
2016,Safety features on all NV Passenger vans include driver and front passenger airbags, along with seat-mounted side-impact airbags. Also, all outboard rear passengers benefit from a roof-mounted curtain airbag. Stability and traction control are also standard, as are 4-wheel anti-lock brakes with electronic brake force distribution and brake assist.
