2013 Nissan Cars Model Overview

Nissan launches the redesigned 2013 Altima Sedan this year, which is the best-selling Nissan model and one of the best-selling cars in the country, as well as the redesigned 2013 Sentra, a new entry into the increasingly popular compact car category. Understandably, then, the remaining car models in the Nissan lineup receive little more than nips here and tucks there for the 2013 model year.

2013 Nissan 370Z

The Nissan 370Z is a 2-seat sports car offered in coupe or convertible body styles. Standard and Touring trims are available, and coupes can be equipped with performance-calibrated NISMO components. A 3.7-liter V-6 engine is standard, making more horsepower and torque when combined with NISMO trim, and drives the rear wheels through a manual or automatic transmission.

What's New

  • New front styling
  • Redesigned wheel choices
  • Standard LED running lights
  • Red brake calipers and sport suspension added to Sport package
  • NISMO trim includes Bose audio system, upgraded brake hoses, and R35 II brake fluid
  • Magma Red and Midnight Blue paint colors

2013 Nissan Altima Coupe

The Nissan Altima Sedan is redesigned for 2013, but the Altima Coupe continues on for another year on its current platform. Nissan whittles choices down by cancelling the manual transmission and the V-6 engine, leaving a single Altima Coupe model for 2013.

What's New

  • Only version available is 2.5 S with a continuously variable transmission (CVT)
  • Three new colors

2013 Nissan Altima Sedan

Nissan has completely redesigned the 2013 Altima Sedan, installing a more powerful and fuel-efficient standard 4-cylinder engine, adding new seat designs, and offering new safety, information and entertainment technology. The lineup includes 2.5 and 3.5 models in S, SV and SL trim levels.

  • Available Nissan Connect hands-free text messaging capability, Google search, and Pandora Internet radio streaming
  • Available blind-spot monitoring system
  • Available lane-departure warning system
  • Available moving-object detection system

2013 Nissan Cube

The name of this compact multi-purpose vehicle might represent a contradiction in terms of sounding small, but this 5-passenger model offers up to 58.1 cubic feet of cargo space.

What's New

  • Base Cube 1.8 trim cancelled
  • Cargo Version package eliminated
  • New Sapphire Slate paint color

2013 Nissan GT-R

The iconic GT-R sports car is Nissan's flagship model, and enters its fifth year of production with 15 extra horsepower and 15 extra lb.-ft. of torque, bringing the twin-turbocharged, 3.8-liter V-6 engine's output to 545 horsepower and 463 lb.-ft. of torque. In addition to the power boost, the 2013 Nissan GT-R receives other upgrades.

What's New

2013 Nissan Leaf

Nissan has not announced changes for the 2013 Leaf electric car as this buying guide is written, except to confirm that Leaf vehicles built for North America will be produced in Tennessee starting at the end of this year. The 2012 Leaf will be available through the end of the calendar year, and is now on sale in all 50 states.

What's New

  • Production moves to Tennessee from Japan

2013 Nissan Maxima

Nissan markets the Maxima as a 4-door sports car. The 5-passenger luxury sport sedan is equipped with a 290-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine powering the front wheels through a CVT equipped with paddle shifters. Maxima S and SV trims are available.

What's New

  • New Pearl White paint color

2013 Nissan Sentra

The 2013 Nissan Sentra is a compact 5-passenger sedan sold in S, SV, SR, and SL trim levels. The only powertrain offered is a new 130-horsepower, 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox in the Sentra S. All other 2013 Sentras are equipped with a new continuously variable transmission (CVT).

What's New

2013 Nissan Versa Hatchback

Nissan has not yet offered any details about the 2013 Versa Hatchback. The company says the 2012 model will be on sale through the end of the calendar year.

2013 Nissan Versa Sedan

The Nissan Versa Sedan is one of the least expensive cars on the market. A compact 5-passenger sedan, the Versa offers 38 inches of rear-seat leg room and a 14.8 cubic-foot trunk. That's more leg space and nearly as much trunk space as the Altima Sedan. However, the 109-horsepower, 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine is not quite as powerful as the Altima's standard engine.

What's New

  • Versa 1.6 S gains a trunk light
  • New Versa 1.6 S AT eliminates a CVT in favor of a 4-speed automatic transmission
  • New Versa 1.6 S Plus CVT includes a continuously variable transmission, cruise control, additional speakers, and a rear spoiler

  • Versa 1.6 SL adds SV items plus keyless entry with push-button ignition, sun visor extensions, and a trunk release button on the key fob
  • All Versas with a CVT now rated by the EPA to get 40 mpg on the highway
