Exterior Features
The 2012 Nissan Armada is a truck-based, full-size heavy-duty SUV, capable of towing 9,100 pounds with proper equipment. The Armada seats up to 8 passengers in 3 rows of seating, and is available in 2-wheel or 4-wheel drive (2WD or 4WD). The base SV trim features 18-inch alloy wheels and rear parking sensors. Four-wheel drive models add fog lights and a power liftgate, which are also standard on the SL trim. The SL adds 20-inch alloy wheels, auto-leveling rear air suspension, keyless ignition and entry, and a roof rack. The Platinum trim adds chrome cladding to the wheels, power exterior mirrors, sunroof, and front parking sensors.

Interior Features
Standard features of the Nissan Armada's SV trim are dual-zone automatic climate control, rear climate control, power accessories that include a power driver seat, and an 8-speaker sound system. Four-wheel drive models upgrade the sound system to an 11-speaker Bose model, and adds Bluetooth connectivity and a rearview camera. The SL trim includes the same features as the SV trim, plus leather upholstery with heated front seats and a power-folding third row. The Platinum trim adds a rear-seat entertainment system, navigation system, heated second-row seats, and other enhancements. Maximum cargo capacity is 97 cubic feet.

Optional Features
The 2012 Nissan Armada offers an optional Tow package with all trims. Many standard features available for the upper trims are also available for the lower trims. On the Platinum trim, the second-row bench may be replaced with captain's chairs.

Under the Hood
The Nissan Armada's power plant is a 5.6-liter V-8 engine rated at 317 horsepower and 385 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine works with a 5-speed automatic transmission; however, 4WD models are fitted with dual-range gearing.

Fuel Economy
EPA fuel-economy figures for the 2012 Nissan Armada are:
- Armada with 2WD: 13/19/15 mpg (city/highway/combined)
- Armada with 4WD: 12/18/14 mpg

Standard safety features on the Nissan Armada include anti-lock disc brakes, traction control, front-seat side air bags, and side curtain air bags.

In government tests conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Armada received 3 (out of 5) stars for rollover protection. To date, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has not tested the 2012 Nissan Armada.
