Pontiac Car Models, Pricing & Reviews
Pontiac, a division of General Motors, ended operations in 2010. One of the oldest U.S. brands, Pontiac, named for a town in Michigan, began as a buggy maker in 1893. It was bought by GM in 1926 as a complement to Chevrolet. In the 1960s, the sporty LeMans, GTO variant, and Grand Prix were popular models. Later came the Firebird and smaller Grand Am. GM tried to rescue the brand known for “emotion” and “soul” with the Solstice roadster and G8 sport sedan, alas, declining sales and a poor economy resulted in the brand being discontinued.
