Exterior Features
The 2013 Lexus LX looks different this year, thanks to its new \"spindle-style\" grille. New wheels, lighting elements, moldings, and trim also contribute to the freshened appearance, along with new colors.

Interior Features
A new Easy Access system powers the steering wheel and driver's seat out of the way to make it easier to enter and exit the 2013 LX, according to Lexus. Genuine Mahogany wood graces the cabin, and the LX is equipped with leather, power front-seat cushion extensions, power-sliding second-row seat, and a power-folding third-row seat. Navigation, a premium sound system, and Lexus Enform telematics with 1 year of free service are also standard.

Optional Features
Extra-cost upgrades for the Lexus LX include a Mark Levinson Reference premium surround-sound audio system, Intuitive Park Assist, rear-seat entertainment system, and a Luxury package that includes semi-aniline leather, ventilated front seats, and heated rear seats. A wide-angle reversing camera with an aerial view is also available.

Under the Hood
A 5.7-liter V-8 engine is standard, generating 383 horsepower and 403 lb.-ft. of torque. A 6-speed automatic transmission feeds power to the full-time 4WD system, which has a locking center differential and low-range gearing. A new Multi-Terrain Select system allows the driver to tailor drivetrain characteristics to the type of surface the SUV is traversing. Crawl Control is also standard, regulating vehicle speed in low-range gear, and is enhanced for 2013 with Turn Assist technology that helps the LX get around sharp bends.

An Adaptive Variable Suspension with Active Height Control adjusts ride and handling according to Comfort, Normal and Sport driving modes. The LX features 8.9 inches of ground clearance.

Fuel Economy
EPA fuel-economy estimates for the 2013 Lexus LX 570 are 12/17/14 mpg (city/highway/combined).

The Lexus LX has 10 air bags, and the traction, stability and anti-lock braking systems are designed to engage based on the underlying terrain. Lexus Enform Safety Connect telematics is included for 1 year, and provides Automatic Collision Notification and SOS Emergency service. Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with Pre-Collision System is optional.

The 2013 Lexus LX weighs more than 6,000 pounds, so that alone is a safety feature, as heavier vehicles protect occupants better in collisions. As this overview is written, crash-test scores are not available for the LX.
