With a 3.8-liter six-cylinder and 4.6-liter eight-cylinder powerplant choice, the 2009 Borrego is the first Kia product in the United States to be offered with a V-8 engine. The 2009 Kia Rio and Rio5 offer an enhanced audio equipment in the form of available steering wheel-mounted controls as well as optional Sirius satellite radio. The wide coverage of satellite radio is also offered on the premium-oriented 2009 Kia Amanti sedan. The 2009 Kia Spectra and Spectra5 now include active front headrests to minimize the occurrence of whiplash in case of a crash. Cruise Control is also added as a standard feature on the EX and SX 2009 Spectra models. The Kia Sportage, Rondo and Optima are left largely unchanged for the 2009 model year.
