Overview

What's New for 2013:
  • New 3-row crossover SUV from Infiniti
  • Front- or all-wheel drive
  • 3.5-liter V-6 engine and CVT
  • Debuts Backup Collision Intervention technology

Exterior Features
The 2013 Infiniti JX is equipped with 18-inch aluminum wheels, power tailgate, heated folding side mirrors, bi-xenon headlights, fog lights, and LED taillights. The 2013 JX also displays what Infiniti calls a \"crescent cut\" rear roof pillar treatment.

Interior Features
Leather, a choice between wood or aluminum trim, triple-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, power sunroof, and a stereo with a CD player and USB port are standard on every 2013 Infiniti JX. Bluetooth is also included, along with keyless entry and push-button ignition, as well as 4 years of Infiniti Personal Assistant 24-hour concierge services at no cost.

Optional Features
In addition to all-wheel drive, Infiniti groups JX35 options into packages that successively build upon one another. Buyers start with the Premium package, which has a navigation system, premium audio system, Bluetooth streaming audio capability, Homelink, front and rear parking sensors, and an Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection. Beyond this, Infiniti offers a Deluxe Touring package (surround-sound audio, air purifying climate control, panoramic sunroof, heated front and rear seats, ventilated front seats, 20-inch wheels), Theatre package (rear-seat entertainment and 120-volt power outlet), and a Driver Assistance package with a heated steering wheel, remote engine start, and several of the JX's high-tech safety features, including the new Backup Collision Intervention system. To get every available safety feature, the Technology package is required.

Under the Hood
The Infiniti JX is equipped with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine making 265 horsepower. Premium fuel is required, and a continuously variable transmission (CVT) delivers the power to the front (FWD) or all four wheels (AWD). Standard Infiniti Drive Mode technology tailors vehicle settings to Standard, Sport, Eco and Snow driving modes. The available Active Trace Control system is essentially a torque vectoring control system that improves stability and acceleration when driving in and out of corners.

Fuel Economy
EPA fuel-economy estimates for the 2013 Infiniti JX35 are:
  • JX35 FWD: 18/24/21 mpg (city/highway/combined)
  • JX35 AWD: 18/23/20 mpg

Safety
The 2013 JX35 is equipped with 6 air bags, traction and stability control, 4-wheel vented-disc anti-lock brakes with brake assist, reversing camera, and one free year of Infiniti Connection Plus telematics with Automatic Crash Notification and Drive Zone/Speed Alert settings. Options include Backup Collision Intervention, blind-spot monitoring and intervention, Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, lane-departure warning and prevention, and intelligent cruise control with Distance Control Assist, forward-collision warning and intelligent brake assist.

As this overview is written, neither the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has performed impact tests on the 2013 Infiniti JX.
